M. Jason Mattox
Jason Mattox is Chief Operating Officer and Principal of Behringer, an integrated real estate investment and advisory business holding company and family office. He has served as an executive officer and principal of the holding company and its subsidiaries since their inception. Prior to the founding of Behringer, Mr. Mattox was vice president of Harvard Property Trust, Inc. from 1997 to 2002, serving as a member of its investment committee, an acquisition officer, an asset manager of commercial office assets, a marketing manager, and as the organization’s industry liaison during his tenure. From 1999 to 2001, Mr. Mattox also served as vice president of Sun Resorts International, Inc., an affiliated recreational property investment company.
Mr. Mattox received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, with honors, and a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He is an annual guest lecturer on REITs, real estate markets, and valuation at his alma mater and a leadership circle board member at the Robert and Margaret Folsom Institute for Real Estate at the SMU Cox School of Business. He formerly served on the board for both The Real Estate Council Foundation, the Real Estate Council Political Action Committee and on the Closed End Fund committee for the Investment Company Institute. He was named by Real Estate Forum to its “50 under 40” and “Next Generation of Leaders” lists and named by the Dallas Business Journal to its “40 under 40” list.
Mr. Mattox has previously held series 7, 63, and 24 securities licenses. He enjoys SMU athletics, architecture, arts, politics, cars and mostly spending time with his family. He is a member of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church.
